The Flower Pot was opened by Todd and Lisa Dobbins April 1, 2003. Originally located in the River City at 1608 West Main Street, Radford,VA 24141. In 2010 The Flower Pot moved to 125 West Main Street, Radford, VA. Right in midtown next to Sonic, across from Mullins Funeral Home. This was the old Shumate Furniture building which was built in 1957. This space was the vision Lisa had for The Flower Pot come to fruition. Lisa had years of experience working in other flower shops in high school and college. Starting a shop from scratch meant the creative ideas could flow. Selecting a warm yellow for the walls and crisp white plantation bead board accents at the original location set the foundation for all of the beautiful items The Flower Pot would carry. Beautiful fresh flower arrangements made to order or arrangements made earlier in the day are in the front coolers. Plants, dish gardens and permanent botanicals are another option for you to choose from.
In 2008 The Flower Pot LLC purchased Floral Expressions located in Dublin, VA. At the end of the lease at The Flower Pot location in Radford in 2013 we decided to merge the two shops together at the Dublin location. It was a hard decision to make but one location, in a smaller space was the direction The Flower Pot needed to go.
If you were a customer at The Flower Pot from the beginning you know that in 2008 Easton, Todd and Lisa's son joined the TFP team. Right before the merge Archer, their 2nd son came along and they are both still a part of daily life at The Flower Pot and Floral Expressions.
Now located at 705 Broad Street, Dublin, VA 24084 the shops are finding their new identities as one. Pulling from the strengths of both shops the future looks exciting. As a long time customer at The Flower Pot said, "Find your Floral Expression at The Flower Pot."
